Annual Learning Plan

2026–2027

My Annual Learning Plan (ALP) is a living document that reflects my continued commitment to professional growth, student success, and purposeful teaching. Building on my experiences in classroom teaching, eLearning, individualized tutoring, curriculum development, assessment, and student support, this year’s plan focuses on deepening my professional knowledge, strengthening my qualifications, and preparing for the next stage of my career.

Where I Currently Stand

I have moved beyond the initial stage of establishing myself as a classroom teacher. My experiences across secondary English and Social Sciences, eLearning, individualized tutoring, and school community involvement have provided me with a strong foundation for continued professional growth.

My earlier professional goals focused on building classroom experience, strengthening my qualifications, developing my teaching practice, and establishing a long-term career plan. I am now in a position to move from building a foundation to deepening my expertise.

This year, I want to focus on developing my knowledge of Catholic education, strengthening my subject-specific qualifications, expanding my understanding of Indigenous education, exploring educational leadership, and determining how graduate study may fit into my long-term professional goals.

Overall Objective

To deepen my professional expertise and continue developing as a reflective, knowledgeable, and responsive educator through additional qualifications, subject specialization, leadership development, and preparation for future graduate study.

My Professional Learning Priorities

This year’s ALP will focus on:

• Completing Religious Education Part 1
• Completing at least one specialization in English or Social Sciences
• Pursuing a Junior-Intermediate Qualification with a Leadership Focus
• Pursuing First Nations and Indigenous Studies Part 1
• Researching and determining a realistic pathway toward a Master’s degree in English and/or Education
• Continuing to apply professional learning through reflection, curriculum development, assessment, and responsive teaching practice

My Long-Term Direction

My goal is not simply to accumulate additional qualifications, but to build on the experiences I already have and become a more knowledgeable, reflective, and purposeful educator.

As I continue developing professionally, I want my learning to strengthen three areas in particular: my subject expertise, my capacity to support and lead students, and my ability to contribute meaningfully to the broader educational community.

This year’s learning will help me determine what the next stage of that journey looks like.
