Annual Learning Plan
My Annual Learning Plan (ALP) is a living document that reflects my commitment to professional growth, student success, and holistic education. Guided by the Ontario College of Teachers’ Standards of Practice, Catholic Graduate Expectations, and ongoing classroom experiences, this plan outlines the goals, strategies, and reflections that shape my development as a purposeful and compassionate educator.
This journey has been deeply enriched by the guidance of my mentor teachers, whose leadership, patience, and genuine care have continually inspired me. Their ability to lead with grace, prioritize relationships, and model ethical teaching practices has affirmed for me the kind of teacher I aspire to be—one rooted in empathy, consistency, and faith. Their mentorship has helped me to see teaching not only as a profession but as a vocation.
In my classroom, I draw from both my Catholic values and yoga teacher training to support the development of the whole child—intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, and reflective practices to promote emotional regulation, focus, and compassion. These strategies are embedded across subjects, not just in physical education, because I believe students thrive when learning environments are calm, inclusive, and rooted in mutual respect.
My ALP includes quarterly goals focused on:
- Enhancing classroom management and student engagement
- Pursuing AQ and ABQ certifications in history, physical education, and geography
- Building a five-year plan that includes leadership and postgraduate studies
- Maintaining strong mentorship and reflective practice throughout
Ultimately, my ALP is both a personal and professional roadmap—a tool that grounds me in my faith, challenges me to keep learning, and reminds me that the best teaching comes from a place of presence, purpose, and heart.
